Lead Viola

Louise Hawker studied the viola at the Royal College of Music with Ian Jewel, graduating with a BMus (hons) degree in 2004. An enthusiastic chamber musician, she has played at a wide range of venues including the Wigmore Hall and the Purcell Room and is the resident violist for the OperaBabes’ acoustic UK tour. In 2007, she performed with the Contemporary Consort as part of the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, and was recently heard in a live broadcast for Radio 3’s In Tune with Tom Kerstens and the Bacchus Quartet. Currently on trial with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, she is most active as a freelance orchestral musician and regularly performs with the Welsh National Opera, the BBC Scottish Symphony, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and Ulster Orchestras.

Louise began playing with the LMO whilst still a student, and has much appreciated their support and encouragement over the years.
