We’d love you to join us! We often have room for more strings (particularly double bass) and brass players (particularly trumpet). Don’t worry if you’re out of practice – come along to a rehearsal and give us a try! A number of our members are in the medical profession but no connection to the profession is required. A good level of orchestral music experience is useful, as is plenty of enthusiasm!
We rehearse on Tuesday evenings from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm at the Walter Sickert Community Centre. We perform three concerts a year.
Each of the string sections is led by a professional who has lots of playing experience. We think this helps improve technique and boost confidence, and makes the orchestra really enjoyable to play in!
Although we’re not looking for woodwinds at the moment, we’d still like to hear from you, particularly if you’re available to deputize. We’ll also keep you in mind when we have vacancies in these sections.
